NotebookLM is designed to help you grasp complex information quickly. By uploading your documents, you transform NotebookLM into a personalized expert on your subject matter. It provides insights and answers rooted in your sources, complete with citations and relevant quotes.

Source Grounding - Unlike traditional AI chatbots, NotebookLM allows you to “ground” the language model in your own notes and sources. This means the AI becomes an expert in the information that’s relevant to you.
You can upload various types of sources to NotebookLM, including PDFs, Google Docs, Google Slides, and website URLs. NotebookLM then processes this information and allows you to interact with it in several ways:
Ask questions: You can ask questions about your documents, and NotebookLM will provide answers based on the information it has processed.

1. Get Started
Go to the NotebookLM website.
Sign in with your Barton account.
2. Create a Notebook
Click “Create”.
Give your notebook a name.
3. Add Your Documents
You can add documents in a few ways:
Upload files: Choose PDF, .txt, or Markdown files from your computer.
Link to websites: Paste in the URL.
Copy and paste text: Put the text right into the notebook.
Link to Google Docs or Slides: Connect your Google Drive.
4. Ask Questions and Explore!
Once your documents are uploaded, you can:
Ask NotebookLM questions about your documents.
Get summaries of the key points.
Generate ideas based on the information.
Start with the most important documents: Larger files take longer to process.
Keep the file limit in mind: You can upload up to 50 files.
Remember the word count: Each file should be less than 500,000 words.
Stick to text: Excel files and images won’t work for now.
